Hello Guys,
I have been trying to connect to a Cube i have created from Cognos Insight.
The issue I have is that I cannot see the TM1 server I have created.
Only the TM1 servers which came with the installation appear in the list of selections. And are successfully connected.
Is there somewhere where I need to add a new TM1 server (Like in Cognos BI?) as a datasource or something, for it to be visible both in TM1 web but also in e.g. Cognos Insight.
Connecting to TM1 Cube from Cognos Insight /TM1 Web?

There is a couple of things you would need to do to set this up but I rather you read and try this, rather than me giving you step by step instructions.

Thanks for your reply. Really appreciate the help!
I have reviewed the link briefly. But I am actually just after a High level anwser, before i could even deep dive.
Eg. Do I need to create an application before I could access it from outside?
A couple of high level steps could help me to then dig deeper on my own, any ideas?

I don't use Cognos Insight but I'm pretty sure you cannot create TM1 servers from inside this tool. You have to use Cognos Configuration, or alternatively, the command line program. If you have created a cube via Cognos Insight then that cube exists only on your local machine, what is otherwise known as a "in-process local server", to use old TM1 terminology. This is not to be confused with an actual TM1 server that can be accessed by others.

Sadly you can publish your insight built model as a TM1 server for others to use... this is the way most presales tends to go; showing users how they can drag in an excel file and have a fully published contribution model available in under an hour...tomok wrote:I don't use Cognos Insight but I'm pretty sure you cannot create TM1 servers from inside this tool.
