Contributor - Manage rights - automate

Post by LutherPaul »

Hi Gurus,
I am looking for a way to automate manage rights on Contributor 10.2.2. I searched with no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Anyplace where some documentation that this can be achieved is helpful.

Thanks in advance,
Paul.

What sort of automation are you looking for?

Like everything security related in TM1 it is controlled by control cubes behind the scenes so TI will get you most of the way for most things. The drag/drop style interface for assigning which users have write access is of course completely pointless if you need more than about 10 groups (e.g. basically any contributor application) so I tend to use TI for that sort of thing, you could also probably look at rules but since the contributor model and its security has changed significantly in every major release the last few times I am wary of using any rules.

Thanks Sachin and Declanr.
Apologies for not having replied earlier as I was caught with other issues.

Sachin,
This is exactly what I am looking for.
I tried to use the utility and got the error below. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Starting TM1 application tool.
An exception occured during operation execute:'com.ibm.cognos.fpmsvc.exception.FPMSVCException: Invalid identity string. :INVALID_IDENTITY'
WHILE [CCLMsg: system text='INVALID_IDENTITY']
exitCode=700

Thanks,
Paul.
