Hi,
I'm running TM1 10.1 for a client and we're trying to set the homepage for each client.
It appears that we can only select files with the extension .xls, and not .xlsx.
Is this just normal behaviour or a TM1 bug that IBM needs to fix?
Also - does anyone know what the difference is between .xls and .xlsx files when it comes to TM1 functionality on the web?
Thank You,
MechEng

Re: TM1 client homepage
The excel file extension can cause issues depending on the excel version you are running on your TM1 web server, especially when mixing with different versions on client machines. This especially applies if you have any pre 2007 versions out there still,

Yes you could regard it as a bug. But not one that IBM ever bothered to fix, well at least until 10.2 from which TM1 Web ONLY supports xlsx.mecheng wrote:Hi,

Note that although you can't set the user homepage to a .xlsx file with the GUI provided in ClientGroup security you can directly edit the hompage value in the ClientSettings cube to a application entry blob that just happens to be for a .xlsx file and the homepage will come up just fine.
Please place all requests for help in a public thread. I will not answer PMs requesting assistance.

Re: TM1 client homepage
Do you have a sample of what the link would look like when pointed to the .xlsx blob? I first went in and picked a .xls file then edited the back half of the string to change the folder over to }Applications\etc.\etc.\.blob.
Doesn't seem to pull up for me on login.
