Action button size and Regional Settings (Number Format)

Post by sander »

Hello All,

I have an issue with action buttons in Excel (tm1 10.2 and Excel 2013). When I make a sheet in excel on the server (Regional settings EN, Decimal Symbol [.], Digit Grouping Symbol [,]) and open on a workstation (Regional settings NL, Decimal Symbol [,], Digit Grouping Symbol [.]) the action buttons get realy big (see attached picture).

I have tested somewhat and it seems the font size is the problem here. The font size is probably set to 9.75 (or 9,75), when it's converted to the other settings the font size goes to 975 (assumed this is it, because I can see the size is 975 when converted, when not converted the size is presented as 10, but this can be a rounded number) .

Possible solutions;
When you activate the developer tab in Excel you can go to design mode and change the font size, but then Excel crashes.

Another solution is to not set 'resize Button to caption';

But then you get a button without text, or better, not visible text.

When you set the button to display as hyperlink the same problems occur

I think I put the text in front of the buttons in Excel, and I size the buttons in the design mode (developer tab), tested it and I can change the size without excel crashing.

Anyone seen this problem before, couldn't find anything on the forum or google, and do you have other possible solutions?
I will post this one with IBM.
