Hi All,
With TM1 10.1.1, it allows documents to be updated against an application as well as comments to be added to a application.
WE can add multiple comments to a application and via 'commentary manager' from TM1 application portal, we can either delete all comments for the selected application or delete all comments before a particular date.
Anyone know -
- Can we edit the comments ? if yes, how ?
- Can we delete the comments per user basis ? Meaning deleting comments made by a particular user ?
- Where the attachments are saved ? Are they saved in data directory itself as encrypted object ?
Thanks in advance for all the insights..
Application commentary - can it be edited ?

Depends what you mean by "edit". The native functionality is that successive comments get appended and users can see the history. The comments themselves get saved in an "Annotations" cube, editing a comment is possible directly in the relevant annotations cube but you have to be careful as any mistake in the syntax for the address parameters will break the comment, and potentially quite a bit more.tm1novice wrote:- Can we edit the comments ? if yes, how ?
No. Not without designing a TI process to go through the annotations cubes and slice out the section of comment strings relevant to the particular user. This really wouldn't be easy at all.tm1novice wrote:- Can we delete the comments per user basis ? Meaning deleting comments made by a particular user ?
This I don't know as I've only ever been bothered with text commentary.tm1novice wrote:- Where the attachments are saved ? Are they saved in data directory itself as encrypted object ?

Thanks lotsaram, for the information and way you shared. I can see it can be dangerous to implement, if any mistake while editing/deleting the comments from annotations cubes.
FYI, the attachements are saved in }attachments directory within TM1 data directory with ".blb" - non-encrypted format.
So you can re-open then with a correct viewer/editor for the purpose of archiving or moving somewhere else.
Thanks.

Re: Application commentary - can it be edited ?
Hi All,
I am trying to delete comments made within the TM1 Application Workflow Interface (Commentary Status)? I am using TM1 10.1.1 FP.Has anyone else had this issue?
I would like to avoid deleting comments directly in the }ElementAnnonations_<Approval Hierarchy Name> Cube but it seems this is the only option?
Thanks
Lance
