The dataspread/Hold function cannot work in TM1 Web 10.2

Anyone found that the dataspread/Hold function cannot work when multiple cells chosen in TM1 Web 10.2?

I don't know exactly what you mean. By definition the selection for initiation of a spread must be a single cell. As far as holds go I think in other UIs (Excel, perspectives/architect) you can place a hold on all cells in a selected contiguous range but the hold option isn't available if multiple cell ranges are selected. So if you are selecting multiple ranges then this is expected behaviour, if you are selecting a single multi-cell range then it would qualify as a bug.

There is an accepted bug in web 10.2 for relative proportional spread failing on an empty range, not sure if this is already addressed in the 10.2.1 fix pack or if a hot fix is still pending.

Firstly, in prespective client(10.2) or previouse web versions(before 10.1), the dataspreading(like clear, repeat...) and hold function exactly can work well for both, single cell or a range.

By now, under TM1 web cubeviewer,
1. if we want to clear some data, we can select the cells that we want to clear, and right click on the selected range, TM1 web will popup the mene, and we can choose dataspread-->clear. All data will be clear. But under 10.2 web, only the single active cell will be clear.
2. The same position, if we click Hold, only one single cell will be hold.

For web sheet,
If we right click on a single cell, TM1 will popup the TM1 menu. But if a range be chosen, when right click on the range, the IE standard popup menu will replace the TM1 menu. I haven't any change to do anything.

I think the function should be as the same as the perspective, and I think this is a serious Bug.

You would think that, wouldn't you? All the TM1 Web code has been re-written for 10.2, so it's not a surprise something's changed. Having said that, there is no guarantee that IBM will accept it as a defect; they can just say this is the new intended functionality. It doesn't say anywhere that different interfaces have to behave in a consistent way, and frankly, all too often they don't. But I think you should definitely raise it and be assertive with them.

My take would be it is a regression bug. In this instance the UI behaviour between Excel and Web should be the same. If you select a contiguous range of cells you should be able to apply or release a hold to all cells in a range in one go and not cell-by-cell. Same goes for clear spread or equal spread leaves, etc.

Clearly something that got missed in the product testing.

You can always raise a defect and on the basis of it works as expected in other UI clients and previous TM1web versions, current TM1Web behavior should be accepted as a defect instead of 'design intent'.

1. Sometimes, the hiden rows will be displayed.
2. Top n filter cannot work well. If set Top 10 in Active Form Report, all lines will be displayed, not only top 10 rows.

Many bugs should be fixed. Where's the TM1 guy?
