Security Group access problem

Post by dilip »

Hi,

I have created 2 users user1 and user 2 and when i removed the access on }tp_everyone group for both the users,by default when first time we install the TM1 it is autochecked. But when i removed the access of that group and when i logged out and see the that again the check mark appears on tp}everyone group.after removing the access from Tp}everyone grp I refresed the security as well as pressed ok again when i log ou and login once again I see the again check mark appears for Tp}everyone grooup.

any reason why it is happening so?

I haven't worked with performance modeler/tm1 applications extensively but I believe the }tp cubes relate to that and would assume that everyone will be in "everyone" by default.

Maybe your definition of the word 'everyone' is inconsistent with the generally accepted one?

Security Group TP}everyone group problem

Post by dilip »

When iam in architect and removed the access on "tp}everyone' for 2 user rm1 and rm2 and when i log out and open the performance modeler and open the application from web and see the view report then once again rm1 and rm2 get access automatically on "tp}everyone" group for rm1 and rm2.and in architect also when i login once again and see that for tp}everyone automatically it is checked.I want to remove the access on that group tp}everyone forever.
any reason for so..??.......and also when i delete that group also it comes automatically.

I moved your post as it is the same question as originally posted in this topic. Could you please refrain from opening multiple threads on the same topic?

Dilip - all I can say is what Kamil has already said. You need to lookup the definition of "EVERYONE"! There's a reason users are automatically assigned to this group, because EVERYONE is. Simple as that. No you can't do anything about it, this is a built in group and built in feature. What you can do is not use the tp}everyone group for assigning security rights to objects that you don't want EVERYONE to have. Use separate security groups for this to differentiate between different groups of users with different rights.

Surely this is nothing more than common sense?

Hi,
Thank you for all your response.

The issue is resolved we can remove the "tp}Everyone" rights from the user .we can do so by removing the rights from each elements of that group i.e "tp}everyone".
Once we removed the rights on each elements of each cube then the rights from that group is removed permanently.
