Viewing TM1 servers by perspectives on the client side

Post by nlashin »

Hello dear colleagues!

I have following situation. We instal Cognos TM1 9.5.2 FP 3 on server machine (Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1). Excel version is 2003.
First big problem is - if I try to have conection with TM1 servers on client machine by perspectives, I dont see anything. Ports in the firewall is open. What could it be?

Second problem is - at server machine i can view servers only by architect interface. If I try open by perspectives, i have following message: Run-time error '-2147024769 (8007007f)': Automation error. All macros at low security level.

Maybe someone had a similar situation?

PS: Sorry for my grammar :)

What do you mean by "don't see anything"? Do you mean that you don't see the list of servers?

If so the obvious questions are:
(a) The "Well Duh" one of whether the sever is actually running and fully loaded into memory yet, but I'd assume that you verified that.
(b) Is the Admin Server running?
(c) Is the client pointing to the correct Admin Host box?
(d) Have you tried swapping between the Admin Host box's name, and its IP address?

Distinctly possible given that if you use the forum's search feature (top right of the page, or the link in my signature) to search for the expression "Automation Error", you'll get a raft of hits. Rather than me rehashing the content of those threads here, I'd suggest doing that. If none of the suggestions in those threads work, post again with details of which ones you tried and what the outcome was.
