Export to Excel Error - TM1 Application (Contributor)

Post by LanceTylor »

Hello All,

I am getting a random error when attempting to export to excel from TM1 Application (Contributor). The same error has occurred to two different users for different cube views (Contributor tabs) and two different contributor nodes? When I attempt to export to excel I don’t have any issues.

TM10.1
User 1 – Windows XP, Excel 2007
User 2 – Windows 7, Excel 2010
Server – Windows 7, Excel 2010

Error message

‘C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\9X7AO0X3\HR – 01 – I – Hourly Rates (Cube)_{f3cbee……appID…}_[HR – Workflow].[3125-9017112550000 (Approval Hierarchy Node) ].xls cound not be found. Check the spelling of the file name and verify file location is correct. If you are trying to open the file from a list of most recently user files make sure the file has not been removed, moved or deleted.

Solutions attempted thus far
1.Cleared temp files
2.Cleared web browser history and cache

I am going to continue to investigate but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Appreciate your feedback

Thanks
Lance

I managed to resolve this issue by getting the users to simply "reset the views and tabs" within Contributor. When the view/tab within contributor is changed a private view is created which includes the "CubeName...Application Reference...Approval Hierarchy Name...Node (Element). It is the length of the file name that caused the error.....MS was unable to handle it. By resetting the views and tabs it sets the cube view/tab back to the default and removes the private view and in my case reduced the length of the filename.
