Hi All!
I would like to use Cognos Insight (Connected or Distributed) as client of TM1 10.1 application and I would like to add calculations, but I don't see the "calculation button".
Is there any properties option (or something else) to make visible the "calculation button"?
(I'm member of admin group)
Thx,
Matya

Re: Cognos Insight as a TM1 application client
If by calculations you mean rules, no you can't edit rules inside Cognos Insight, nor does it support client-side calculations.
The Insight front-end is designed for data collection, submission and reporting primarily.
For development, you have two front-ends available: Perspectives/Architect and (in a more limited capacity) Performance Modeller. Cognos Insight is not intended to replace these.
If you want client-side calcs, you could try Executive Viewer, but that has it's own limitations.

Indeed Executive viewer calculations only apply within EV, they are not deployed to the TM1 service and they also can slow reports down quire a bit.

Ok, but when I first start the Cognos Insight and then I connect to TM1 server, I have "calculations button" and of course I can edit the cube rule.

And If I connect the application from Cognos Connection, that button doesn't appear.

Is there any opportunity to make that button visible at the application?

If you don't connect Insight it lets you create cube locally. You can import spreadsheets, all kinds of good stuff. Once you connect to the application you can't create calculations. After all you can then edit data and the submit the changes to the application. Would you really want changes in calculations to go also? Unless the user involved has admin access it doesn't make sense.
