Hi Guys,
I'm really having a problem in my Insight. I'm using version 10.2
In order to work offline in a workspace, this should be distributed first. When I do Publish and Distribute my workspace, at first I enter my username and password in the given IBM Cognos TM1 system URL and tested the connection, it was successful. But when I click Next button, the default IBM Cognos system URL spells like this.
http://<server:port>/ibmcognos/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi
On the <server:port> I just replaced it with the one in my IBM Cognos. I get through. And it prompts a window login named IBM Cognos BI Connection. Is this correct? Is it the window I'm expecting?
After this prompts, I entered my TM1 username and password. Then IBM Cognos TM1 Applicatins prompts now containing my previously Published (but not distributed objects).
From here, how will I be able to distribute my workspace, there seems to be no facility in here to distribute or create a folder.
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Re: How to distribute workspace in Insight
In order to work offline, you need to deploy the application using peformance modeler ... and make sure that you have selected "IBM Cognos Insight - Distributed" as one of the allowed clients.

Re: How to distribute workspace in Insight
Thank you Sir for the answer.
I hope you don't mind, but I have another set of questions, I am new to Cognos Insight and I need to confirm if the ff are doable in Insight.
Just want to ask if the following scenarios are doable in Cognos Insight. Thanks very much.
1. If you're given a read-only access to only one cube in the TM1 server, will you still be able to at least connect to that TM1 server via Cognos Insight app?
2. If you have a read-only access to only one cube in the TM1 server, will you still be able to create a workspace/report that's sourcing from that one cube you're assigned with read-only access?
3. Can dimension alias attributes be used in Cognos Insight? I tried finding but can't see. Is it possible?
4. If I publish a Report 1.CDD file containing cubes A and B, can I still publish Report 2.CDD also containing at least one of these cubes? I tried but prompted with error.
5. If I delete any TM1 object in the Data pane in Cognos Insight, will it also be deleted from the TM1 server?
6. Can a user with read-only access to ALL cubes still be able to create his own CDD file using some of those cubes?
Thanks very much in advance.

No, you cannot use an alias in Cognos Insight as you can in TM1:bunchukokoy wrote:3. Can dimension alias attributes be used in Cognos Insight? I tried finding but can't see. Is it possible?
In Cognos Insight you cannot use an alias instead of the corresponding element name as you can do in TM1.
In Cognos Insight, when importing data say from a flat file, you can define an alias in the data source and map it to an element.
In short terms, in Cognos Insight a TM1 alias is restricted to the role of a lookup element in a lookup dimension when importing data, quote the IBM Cognos Proven Practice "IBM Cognos Insight - Map Members from Different Sources to the Same Dimension":
"This scenario can be dealt with in Cognos Insight by using Aliases or a lookup dimension."

IBM Cognos Insight - Map Members from Different Sources to the Same Dimension
Summary: Experienced data modelers can use the techniques in this article to map members from different data sources to the same dimension during an import into Cognos Insight 10.1 or 10.2. They may be used when measures are taken from two data sources and the members from the dimensions bringing context to the measures do not match.
