Let me shortly describe the situation:
We have TM1 running on two servers. One with 9.4.1 and another one with 9.5.2. I am on a Client-Computer with no direct access to the server. Still, I would need to access both servers. To ensure this I have copied all the files from [Program Files]\Cognos\TM1 into a "back-up"-folder on my local hard disk. Then I was updating the Client-Software to 9.5.2.
Now I have two TM1-Folders (one in the Program Files path and one at a back-up folder on the hard disk). In each folders there's a bin folder containing the "tm1p.xla"-file. When clicking this either in the 9.4.1 or 9.5.2 file Excel opens with the according TM1 Client Version (Excel Perspectives).
Now the problem:
The 9.5.2. Version runs without additional problems (just the ones that everyone encounters
). However, the 9.4.1. does not support some features anymore. Among them is the use and the creation of Action Buttons or opening the Subset Editor through a SUBNM formula in Excel. The question:
Does anyone else has a better idea on how to run two Perspectives versions on a client computer? Or maybe also an idea on how to fix this?
