Connect to a remote local TM1 server

Post by bunchukokoy »

Hi Everyone,

My problem is, there's no pop-up window that prompts when I double-click on the instances shown in my TM1 Perspective explorer, these instances are the sample servers included in the installation package, residing on another server. SData, PData, etc. I'm using 10.1.1.

Is that why there's no pop-up window? Do I need to completely set-up their cfg files so I'll be able to connect in my laptop?

Please help.

Thanks a lot. :D

I think it's rather more likely that you're pointing your Perspectives session to the wrong Admin Host. You should check which Admin Host is running the Admin Server that your production servers are registered with, and make sure that you have your options pointing to that Host.

If you mean the login window doesn't pop up, but the servers are visible, I have seen this happen when two servers are set up to use the same port number. This should not happen with the default TM1 install, but perhaps someone messed with the tm1s.cfg files and changed the port numbers?
