TM1 Admin Server - 10.1.1

Hello All,
I've installed TM1 V10.1.1 - 64 bit on Windows 2008 R2 (64 bit). The installation was completed successfully.But when I try to start TM1 Admin Server via IBM Cognos Configuration, it shows a message that TM1 Admin server is started but it does not start.

I uninstalled TM1, reboot the server, run the setup as Run as Administrator

Verified the Windows\System32\drivers\etc\services file but this does not include the port numbers 5495 & 5498.I then added these port numbers in the services file, reboot the server and tried again but no luck. Morever the machine already has IBM Cognos BI 10 installed and I'm trying to install TM1 on the same machine, is this possible. Please advice me how to start the TM1 Admin Server.

The stop icon displays even after starting tm1 admin server.
the other services TM1 excel and application server are starting and displaying in srvices windows panel.
The service is not displaying in services panel.


Your guidance is appreciated

Make sure that the TM1 admin host is not running as an application (check in task manager). If an admin host is already running then the service will not be able to start as you can have only one admin host running on a machine. We also had this issue with 10.1 and 10.1.1 as for whatever reason it seemed Cognos Configuration had started the admin host application not service. Simple fix of killing the application in task manager then starting the service.

I tried the same approach, but I haven't noticed any service running as an application under task manager.

McAfee is up and running on this machine, will this create any problem.
I've done telnet

telnet Ip_address 5495
Could not open connection to the host, on port 5495: Connect Failed
telnet Ip_address 5495
Could not open connection to the host, on port 5498: Connect Failed
How can I proceed now..?

Have your network team open the ports to your server. Yes you can run TM1 and BI on the same machine. BI runs on different ports however.
