10.1 Adding Help Docs to the TM1 Application
Folks
If using TM1 Web we can add supporting documents to the application. If using Performance Modeler 'Application Builder' to create applications for the TM1 Applications Portal i cannot find away to attach/include such docs. The application options allow us to add some text to the model and the specific cubes within but not attach documents.
EP Contributor allowed us to write HTML script referencing documents/images stored on the webcontent folder of the installation but that does not seem to work either.
Anyone worked on this?
Thanks
Mark H

Haven't tried it in 10.1 but in 9.5 you can publish Word and Powerpoint docs to Application folders.

I think there is no workaround as yet other than to include TM1 Websheets as tabs in the contributor application and from the websheet you can hyperlink to wherever you choose.

@Lotsaram: Do you mean activate 'advanced modeling' to create 'manual dependencies' folder in the application within PM ?
Thanks
Thanks

No I mean simply building the application with not only cube views as tabs but also websheets as tabs. The websheet tabs can include, instructions, graphics and hyperlinks to external html (or other) files hosted on the webserver. (If you have someone available with a talent for "Excel beautification" then this can turn out a really nice solution.)
NB if websheets are included in an application then you can't use Cognos Insight as a client only Application Web.

Jumping between Perspectives and Performance Modler? Kind of. You need to develop websheets with Perspectives, or more specifically you need to develop websheets in Excel and then use Perspectives or Architect to upload them to the TM1 server as an application object. Once they are there you can use PM to include the websheet as a tab within an application just as you would include a cube view as a tab within an application. As PM exists in a separate layer any applications created there are not visible in Perspectives/Architect/TM1 Web as they are not core TM1 server objects.Mark H wrote:Hi Lotsaram
I will look into your advice on help docs/websheets over the weekend. For now i am a little bit lost. In order to achieve your instructions are we jumping between Architect/Perspectives/Performance Modeler ?
Having created my Application in PM i cannot see it in Architect so could you possibly jot down the buller points steos?

@Lotsaram
Having created the application in PM it does not exist in Architect/perspective - arrghhhhhh.
They are not interchangable.

Re: 10.1 Adding Help Docs to the TM1 Application
Hi Mark,
in TM1 10.1.1 it is possible to attach documents to your planning application.
In my opinion you can attach documents to each node from the hierarchy.
You can also add comments.

You never have to search very far for those; there are always links to the documentation in the FAQ thread. Just be aware that they have the links the wrong way around on the page; the column that is headed 10.1.0 points to the 10.1.1 documents, and vice versa. I think it was Andy Key who first noticed that a few weeks back and as of this posting, it still hasn't been fixed.Mark H wrote:Searching for release notes .........

Re: 10.1 Adding Help Docs to the TM1 Application
@ Gibbs
Cannot add attachments as comments to end user grid in 'contributor' model via Application web or Cognos Insight.
Cannot add document or URL reference to it using Performance Modeler
Cannot switch to Perspectives to add document to the model as 'applications' created in Performance Modeler are not visible in Architect/Perspectives as not created in the Data Directory. They are in the WB-INF directory in the installation area
Have nt found any config parameter to activate document attachement. Nor have i found any reference to this is the release notes for 10.1.1
Do we know when 10.2 Performance Modeler is due for release ?
Thanks
M

Hi Mark,
I attached a printscreen where you can see that you have the possobility to attach documents in TM1 10.1.1 built with the Performance Modeler.
Regards,
Andy

Re: 10.1 Adding Help Docs to the TM1 Application

Two things to say:
1. I'm not really on 10.1.1
2. that is really stupid place to add comments. I was ading comments onthe cell to explain that cell or that cube. Not expecting to attach series of explanatory files to the node after i have completed the forecast. Perhaps 10.1.1 also allows attachments on the cell.
Thank you. This very important functionality. And I can not find any mention of it in release notes.
Cheers
MH

Re: 10.1 Adding Help Docs to the TM1 Application
Could you please clarify several questions:
1/ what files (odf, doc, xls, etc.) can be attached?
2/ are there any limitations on file size?
3/ where files are stored after being attached?
Thanks in advance!

Re: 10.1 Adding Help Docs to the TM1 Application
All,
After a lengthy absence from this site I have my grubby hands on 10.2.2 - wow !!! What an improvement. Almost all of my previous woes and frustrations have been eliminated.
I can also see that the advice I have been given on this posting was accurate and failings due to 10.1 version - where document attachment and commentaries not possible - they are now.
Future is looking very good here
Thanks
