Obtaining A "Free" (Sample) Copy of TM1

Post by Shital »

Hi All,

I am new to the TM1 but I have attended training 8 months back. Now i want to practise on TM1 and revise all the concept.
Does anybody know how to download TM1 free version?

My reply might be irrelevant to the current post but your answer would be a great help.

Thanks in advance.

This is probably the closest you will get to a "free" version of TM1.

If I recall correctly; there is a link to this (or an earlier version) in the FAQ post. Also if you are intrigued as to the difference between Express and TM1 you are probably best starting off with the FAQ post again or google... googling "Trial TM1" or something similar would have probably also got you to the download page.

It was, so it's been split into its own thread. Please don't "threadjack" the first available thread. If you have a new question, start a new one.

Declan's answer is correct; unlike some software such as SQL Server or some other applications there is no 'express" or "community edition".

If you want to get in some practice with a similar tool, you could do worse than to take a look at Palo. it's close enough to get you started but different enough that you can't just walk into a TM1 job off the back of Palo experience. But there is a free edition of it.

I dunno about that. I'd rather hire someone any day with solid Palo experience but no direct TM1 experience versus someone who was an "IBM certified TM1 Developer" but with no project experience.

OK, let me be clearer.

"...different enough that you can't just walk into a TM1 job off the back of Palo experience of the kind that you'll get by just grabbing a copy and playing / experimenting /learning with it (as you have indicated is your intention in obtaining a "free" copy) given that most people can see a distinction between that, and having created detailed and extensive applications which are used operationally by others. However, the same principle would apply had there been a community edition of TM1 for you to learn on."

Hi Alan, i tried to ask a new question but didn't have permission to ask a question because i was newly registered user. Little strange but true. Generally, when we have question then we post it on forum but i could not do that here :(
