Understanding Cognos TM1

I am reading training material about Cognos TM1 but it seems it is wide enough for the beginners, I want to know how does Cognos TM1 use in the company,

Who uses the following;

TM1 Architecture
TM1 Perspective
TM1 Web Application
TM1 Performance Modeler
IBM Cognos Insight

What are the following;

Cube
Dimension
Elements
Process
Turbo Integrator

Also how the the following work;
Planning
Modeling
Application

lastly I need to know what is the Major Concept of using TM1 in the Company or what is the participation of the system to improve the Business Intelligence of the Users. Bytheway I am using VMware for IBM Cognos TM1.
