Word wrap - force new line

I have in an application form a large cell. ie. I have merged 7 columns and 4 lines into a single cell.
That single cell has a DBRW in it that points to a string cell in a cube.
Voila! It works. (I understand there was a word wrap bug, which I had seen before, that has now been fixed in 9.5.2 FP1).
The cell wraps as I want it to.

Now to push it a little further to something I want that I can't see how to make work:
If I want to insert a line break into this text, can it be done?
I've tried all the usual suspects (alt+enter, ctrl+enter, shift+enter) and even a few html guesses ( <br> ) but nothing works.

Also, if I get a properly broken line in using Perspectives (alt+enter), the break is not honoured in the browser.
