DBS formulae issues

Hi there,

One of my colleagues is unable to upload data to TM1 using a DBS formula in an excel spreadsheet. When they email the sheet to my, I can F9 and it uploads without any problem.

My colleague was able to upload using the same spreadsheet last month - there have been no changes to her access levels or the data she is uploading.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this / how to remedy?

Questions like this are usually accompanied by a disclaimer that "nothing has changed", but then when it's looked at closely... something has changed.

The something could be the access level, or the fact that they may not have the TM1 add-in loaded, or a dimension has been altered resulting in a SubNm returning a consolidation rather than the previously specified N level element, or... there could be any number of things.

The way to diagnose it is:
(a) Look at one of the the DBSend formulas on your colleague's machine, under her login, and see exactly where it's pointing to after you calculate. The easiest way to do that is to use the formula tracer that Martin wrote for TM1 Tools. That will at least help you determine whether the formula is writing to where you think it should be writing to.
(b) If it is, create a view of that cell in cube viewer (again under her login) and check to see whether the cell is white or grey. If it's grey, right click on it and select Edit Status to see why you can't write to it.

Most likely by that point you'll know what it is.

Just also be careful that it's not a situation that a colleague of mine mentioned recently where a new user had two sheets open at the one time, one of which was sending numbers to the cube, and one of which was zeroing them out. So when they pressed [F9]....
