Error when saving a view in EViewer

Post by bunchukokoy »

Hi Good Guys :D ,

I have another problem. Whenever I save a particular view in EV, this error always appears. See attached files.
I can't find answer in Google.

Please if someone understands this error.

Many thanks. :D

Have you tried joining the EVUsers forum and posting it there? There are guys on here that know a bit about EV but a couple of the guys on there are experts,

Jim.

Hi Sir Jim,

I have posted certain topics there before. I just found, I don't know maybe only in my case, that replies take so long to come. I also have posts which earned no reply. :) Maybe I'll just try again.

Thanks!

This is a weird error.

Have you tried changing the Title Elements in your view? May be there is an element which is an invalid character for the EV Data source table.
Cheers!

Does this somehow indicate some invalid characters that IE cannot render?, because some of my item descriptions in TM1 have non-alphanumeric chars.

What is EV Data source table btw?

Thanks so much. :)

I'm guessing the data source table is from the database EV uses to store it's file structure. What database did you use when installing EV?

Yes, the data source table is in the Catalog Provide which EV uses for its content management.

But my data source table has always been TM1. I haven't used other source table. This one I posted is TM1. When I look at pages regarding 'hexadecimal value...' error, there's this XML thing they say, but I am not in-depth with XML technically. I'm just hearing the name. Do you have an idea about this error being related to XML?

Many thanks guys.

(sorry, there's still no reply regarding this error in EV forums.)

Did you read our posts and the tech note regarding EV catalogue DB?

Sir Jim,

Are you referring to the link posted in this thread? If yes, yes I did read. It shows how to configure data source in EV.
And, unfortunately, I'm not the one who installed the EV.
I'm wondering what databases are the choices when installing the EV and why would EV need one? Are these databases rdbms or olap databases?

Thank you!

The db holds how ev constructs views etc. You'll need to find out what the db is and where it is. If you're unsure how it works full details are within the ev docs. Without knowing what db was used at install we can't really help you any further.
