TM1 10.1.1 installation error

Post by viswaraju »

Hi,
I have tried to install the TM1 10.1.1in the machine,
The installation was successful and I was able to run the clients and TM1 server\Planning sample is available in services.
When I am trying to start Admin server services from the configuartion tab,the message I got is

REGISTERING TM1 ADMIN SERVER FAILED.

The OS is 2003.

Thank you for your support.

I played about with the config screen when I first installed it but just found it be an unnecessary extra layer that provided an extra level of error messages (I actually get an error message every time I open the config screen and the error supposedly had a standard cause and standard fix... the standard fix didn't fix it for me...) so I just go the normal route of adding/deleting services through the tm1sd.exe and starting/stopping services through the component services menu or dos prompt.

Have you tried starting the service through the component services menu?

No you haven't tried it? Or No, you've tried it and it still didn't work?

Due tot he difficulty in extracting information here I would go with a simple (but annoyingly effective) helpdesk standard reply of uninstall it and then reinstall.

Hi,
I have installed TM1 10.1 a few times, with no problems at all, if it is a clean installation on a formated machine. If you are installing over a previous version, that could cause problems if haven't completely unistalled the previous version first. Also, you may encouter some problems if you migrating a TM1 server from older versions and try to import it in Cognos Configuration because the TM1s.cfg file has some changes. But if you make some changes in the TM1s.cfg you can use Cognos Configuration utility to that TM1 server.

In any way I agree to what was said before that your best approach is to unistalled completely and reinstalle it.

thank you George,
I have reinstalled it and then installed.
I am installing it in client domain remotely, when I tried run the Admin server services under cognos configuration,
I am getting the error,
In the installation set up there is no any version of TM1.
2003 server sp2 R2 is the OS and all the prerequisite is installed.
