Hello - At my current client, TM1 cube is run every hour, and bunch of cube based report is executed every 15 mins in addition clients access TM1 cube using Analysis studio. We are experiencing TM1 cube build delays as cube based reports have lock on TM1 cube. We currently have one version of TM1 cube and both reports and analysis studio hit that cube. Needinput regarding the pros and cons of implementing synchronization , and would appreciate any other options to prevent TM1 cube build delay . Business need is to avoid issue with cube based reports, but keep the TM1 cubes build every hour.

Re: TM1 Synchronization.
What do you mean "is run every hour" and "build delays"? Do you mean the cube is destroyed and rebuilt every hour so that Analysis Studio can report off it? Why don't you import straight to Analysis Studio and cut out the middle man?siva wrote:At my current client, TM1 cube is run every hour
What do you mean by synchronization? What is going to synchronize with what?
I'm not sure TM1 is the right tool for you if all you're doing is reporting stuff from another system. You might be better of with BI or just Analysis Studio.

@siva, sorry about the hijacking. Back to your original post;
Why are you (if you are) recreating the TM1 cube hourly? What about going over to a permanent cube, but updating the structures (and of course the data) hourly. Also, what version of TM1 are you using? The ParallelInteraction feature in 9.5.2 could help you with the data load (not the structure load).

Davids point about about structure and data updates is valid. I would say however that any locking caused by structural changes lasts until the end of the chore, therefore you will also need to make sure that structural changes and data changes are in 2 different chores.
