Purpose of SubsetAliasSet

I have come across a code in TI process that uses SubsetAliasSet. What is it use for ? the above link didnt mention much about the purpose of SubsetAliasSet. I know it is used when creating a dynamic subset. But what happen if i create a dynamic subset in TI without having a subset alias ?

The command can be used for any subset, not just dynamic ones. By using the function you are defining that the subset will use one of the available aliases when the subset is displayed in a view, or active form, or is referenced via a SUBNM.
