How to put a URL into a TM1 Application Folder

Post by John Hammond »

I would like to put a URL into my application folder so that the user can reference my fully comprehensive documentation of the completed system in Sharepoint. (Ok rough notes in SharePoint).

This is very helpful in saying you can go beyond Excel and have any file you like

http://www.bihints.com/store_any_files_ ... ons_folder

But I would like to put a URL and I wonder if this is possible seeing as most modern apps allow you to do this.

Thanks in Advance

Right click on an application folder -> Add URL... :geek:
(can't remember if it was available in 9.0 though)

Edit: it was.
Adding URL References to an Application
You can add a URL address to an application for any of the following URL protocols:

http://

https://

When you open a URL reference in a TM1 application from within TM1 Architect, Server Explorer, or TM1 Web, the target source of the URL displays in your system's default web browser.

Steps
In the Server Explorer, right-click the Application to which you want to add the URL reference, and click Add URL on the shortcut menu.

The Add URL dialog opens.

Enter a complete URL, including the http:// or https:// protocol.

For example: http://www.Company.com

Enter a descriptive name for the URL.

For example: Company Web Site

Click OK to add the URL.

The URL is added to the TM1 application, using your system's default icon for a URL link.

Note that the URL you add is limited to 255 chars though.
