Need security help with new install of Cognos Express 9.5

Post by sjokesson »

In "Express Manager", my userID is listed in the tab "Users" with membership in "Express Administrators".

In IBM Cognos Administration, my userID is a member of "Express Administration".

BUT, when I go into Architect I have no permissions. All actions are grayed out, including "security assignments". What I am missing?

It's probably something basic but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Thank you!!!

I have not worked with Express 9.5 but this may help.

Till you get an Express expert to assist you from the group try to set TM1s.cfg parameter IntegratedSecurityMode=4. You may need to re-start the service.

I take it this is not the administrator account? TM1 security and Cognos Express security are not always the same. You need to login to TM1 as the administrator then go to Security, add Clients and go and find your Express account. Then make this account a member of the admin (or other) group.

HTH,
Martin

Thank you. I logged on as "cognosadmin" then within the cxmd server in Architect I gave my true userID "ADMIN" permissions. This gave me the access I needed. For some reason it's not enough just to create a UserID in Cognos Express Manager with admin rights.
