TM1 on Twitter

I've noticed TM1 Users, Administrators and Consultants have a pretty tiny presence on Twitter. Please feel free to list your twitter accounts, I'm keen to see what people are tweeting. Also feel free to list Twitter users you follow which are (TM1) relevant and interesting.

As far as I can tell, the official IBM Twitter account for Cognos & TM1 is IBM Cognos

That's a little harsh Tomok. To be fair the whole twitter thing escapes me. I'm on it but only follow people that are genuinly funny. Why the hell would anybody want to know what colour undies I had decided to put on that day or any other boring stuff???

I guess I don't understand what's harsh about that statement. I didn't insult anybody, I didn''t insult Twitter, or TM1. I only made a comment about the combination of twitter and TM1. I can't help that it makes me want to puke, it just does. Twitter is just a manifestation of the extreme vanity of our times.

Maybe I'm showing my age but I find Twitter to be informative and interesting. I followed along the IBM Watson Jeopardy saga despite not being in the US and have also followed big events this year like the Arab Spring, Gaddafi, the NotW inquiries, and the OccupyX movements.

It is admittedly not designed for long-form questions or answers, but luckily we have the forum for that. What Twitter is great for is sharing that there is something new and interesting on the forum and letting other people who may be interested in that sort of thing know about it. It's pretty rare someone tweets what colour underwear they are wearing (but mine's orange, in case you were curious).

Amen to that. I may be old fashioned, but I believe that "soundbites" and their electronic equivalents have dumbed down discourse in all areas of life from politics to business to science and beyond. It's become refreshing to see thoughts which are actually structured buried amongst all of the electronic noise that we have today from the Twitters and the Facebooks and the wannabes of both. Thoughts which are comprehensive. Which have some form of context. Which are considered before being published, even. They don't need to be novels or encyclopaedias, but short of a link to somewhere else which does have some genuine content, there's not much worth listening to in 140 characters in my opinion. Certainly many personal SMS messages are often relevant to the person receiving them... but they don't need to be broadcast to the world. However as Tomok was alluding to, we live in an age where too many people feel that they need to broadcast everything that crosses their mind to the world.

Finally, everyone knows that Jim, just like every other Admin, always wears brown undies on the days that he has to work with TM1 Web. That covers both possible outcomes during the course of the day.

I mean't the image of you puking was a bit harsh. The sentiment I share. Still I guess that image is better than Alan strutting his stuff in brown undies!!!!
