My environment:
TM1 9.5.1
Cognos BI 10
I am brand new in TM1 and I need help to understant the setting between a cube in TM1 and the Package in Report studio.
We have two TM1 servers (Production and Testing) that didn't have the }HierarchyProperties set up. The testing server ia a copy created from the Production server like two weeks ago.
I set }HierarchyProperties in the Testing server to discuss the users which names they want to use for the levels.
After getting an aggrement, I set the }HierarchyProperties in the Production server, but now in that server the Member Caption in the server is different. I didn't do anything different (that I am aware) to select the Member Caption.
Does somebody know where in TM1 that is set it up? I am not sure if the change need to be done in the Architect or in the Cognos Framework Manager.

Hi,
First check that you have aliases on your dimension in TM1 in your production environment.
If you do have aliases in TM1, then this is the package definition in Cognos Framework Manager that you need to change. In the package definition, once you have chosen your TM1 cube as a datasource, you get a screen with all cube dimensions specified. For this dimension, check the box regarding the alias you want to see in Cognos, and also check the boxes regarding the languages you will use. If I have well understood, the languages you have to check are the ones corresponding to the language(s) of the web browser(s) you will use.
This is what I can tell you from my short experience about TM1 + Cognos 10... I'm not sure it will answer your question as I do not know what }HierarchyProperties is !

What Catherine said. You need to have at least one Alias and when you import the cube into Framework manager it will force you to pick an alias to use for the member description.

Thanks!! That was the trick.
Now, if the Project was already created in the Framework Manager without the alias, Is it possible to modify the project to set the alias?
That is just in case that we don't want to create another Project for this reason.
Thanks a lot !!!

Ready ... Thanks a lot to both of you.
