Hi,
I need to give a user enough security so he can add cubes and save rules.
BUT, I want to restrict him from some cubes.
I did the security about the cubes (he could not see my cubes)- Also, I gave him dataadmin so he can create cubes.
It works perfectly the way I wanted: He cannot see my cubes, and he can add his cubes.
But as soon as he logoff- login again, he can see everything.
Is it a bug?
Is there a way to do what I really want?
thanks
Micheline

That's expected behaviour. A DataAdmin is a site wide security group that will have admin access to everything except security.
To do what you want to do you can set up a security group of your own and then give that security group admin access to the cube that you want your colleague to be able to edit the rules for. They will also be able to create public views.
Note they'll also need to have the Perspectives (aka Modeller) licence to edit rules.
Also note that they may well be able to read the rules for other cubes, but if they make any changes and try to save it then it will say "Rule creation failed". Same thing happens with TI. Ideally the save icon would be greyed out. I'm guessing it's next on the list after the subix function.

There is no security role that can do all the things you want except straight admin. You can accomplish most of what you want by creating a custom security group and giving that group admin access over the cubes you want. However, they won't be able to create their own cubes. An admin would have to build them for them.
