Hi Guys!
We implement tm1 as main budget system at big company and use tm1web interface as main user interface.
users work through terminal farm (MS windows) - ie8.
Unfortunately, performance of tm1web is terrible - when user opens web active form it takes a huge time (5-10 sec) to move cursor from one cell to another.
But when users work through test terminal server, cursor movement takes less than second at the same web form.
1) tm1 application server is 64bit 2008r2.
2) Servers at terminal farm are 64x windows (2003r2 2008r2), test terminal server is 2003 32 bit. servers at terminal farm have "better hhardware"
3) IE8 is installed at farm and at test server. We tried to work at 32 bit version of ie at farm, but it didn't help.
4) Excel2003 at application server, 2007 at terminals.
5) When I "move cursor" from local laptop (win7, 64bit, IE9) everything is fine.
6) When our customer run TM1web from local workstation (Win XP32bit, IE8) - result slow. At the same time tm1web works fine at google chrome=)
7) We can see this problem espessially clear at large forms (100 rows x 100 columns for example).
8) While I move cursor one core of server has pike to 100% core utilization for 2-10 sec.
9) We tried to disable rules at this webforms - there were no improvements
Our ideas how to solve issue and how to improve performance are finished. May be any of this community has any ideas?
The main questions which we have are:
1) What TM1web do when user move cursor and why it takes a huge time and resources to complete this operation at big forms?
2) What dlls or windows components work with tm1web at client workstation?
3) May be anybody had experience with similar issues?

Re: TM1Web slow performance
You might want to check also the spec of the pc or laptop of the users. It can be an impact I think. Cause I remotely access TM1Web on my PC and it doesnt take as long as others I've seen. But of course there might be some other aspects the pros here can provide you.

Re: TM1Web slow performance
Sounds like your network performance may be the issue. If you can use it on the server perfectly well, then the difference is the connection - have you any way to check the quality of this?
Also, try building Stargate VIEW formulas for you standard reports, this will help calculation time.

I think this issue isn't conected with hardware - because weak server has good performance=)
Christopher: And it's not the network too - after we open webform we plug LAN cabel off and cursor movement speed was the same..
Stargate view - we will try it...

Re: TM1Web slow performance
Make sure Autorecalc is turned OFF in the workbook and make sure TM1Web is configured to always inherit the Autorecalc setting from the workbooks.
