Dynamic subset on 9.5.2

Post by Goatship »

hi all,

We using Contributor of 9.5.2 (Build: 9.5.20000.11857).
As another team has experienced on 9.5.1, the dynamic subset is not working consistently (no fault pattern found, so concluding it's bug). We tested dynamic subset on 9.5.2 contributor, and found that
1) it not working on some nodes, given all security the same.
2) it always(tested on several nodes, so presumably 100%) works for some cube, which we suspect, is becuz the cube has fewer number of dimensions.
On 9.5.2 contributor, is dynamic subset still unsolved ? or we missing something here?

Also on dynamic subset, I wonder if its possible we order elements by attribute, either numeric or text? and what about by two attributes with "AND" (intersect)?
I'm new to TM1.

You say another team has been using 9.5.1. Did you originally design your Contributor application in 9.5.1 or 9.5.2? If it was 9.5.1, then there is a process in the install guide about updating the application from 9.5.1 to 9.5.2?

One of the new objects in 9.5.2 Contributor is a process that takes your dynamic approval subset and converts it to a static one for the sake of Contributor's processing, but also leaves the original definition as dynamic so you don't lose the dynamicity of the subset. I don't have Contributor on this machine, but it is called something obvious like }tp_util_convert_dynamic_subset_to_static.

I've got a client that is using the 9.5.2 Contributor objects and processes (albeit using my own interface rather than the Contributor one as they wanted to use their existing websheets rather than be limited to the layouts of cube views), and they use a dynamic subset for their approval hierarchy without any problems. This includes the approval hierarchy having automatically updated as the result of changes to the underlying dimension since the application was defined.
