Help! Problems installing 9.5.2 on Windows7

Post by Faizal »

Hi All

We are all upgrading our pc's to windows 7 and I am trying to upgrade TM1 from 9.3.1 to 9.5.2.

I have no problems installing on our current Os (XP), but when trying to install it on windows 7 I get the following error message

"IBM Cognos TM1 -- Error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Istaller package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action:SetRoles, location:PKGMGR.EXE,command:/iu:IIS-IIS6ManagementCompatibility;IIS-WMICompatibility;IIS-Metabase;IIS-legacyScrips;IIS-legacySnapIn;IISStaticContent"

I have administration rights to the the PC

Any advice would be appreciated

only obvious suggestion, restart PC after changes suggested, then try... also maybe navigate to setup.exe on server instead of the .msi, still doing the right click run as admin

Last resort move the .msi file to another directory, right click run as administrtaor...?

cheers

If IBMs solutions have not worked i would suggest contacting their support teams. ONly issues i've ever had related to not running an install as admin.
If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator.
