Building off of this prior post, http://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1059 could someone please elaborate on the major differences between Cognos TM1 and Oracle Demantra? I was posed this question recently by someone in our organization but I'm not familar with their product.
Thanks

Re: TM1 vs. Demantra
Demantra is an out of the box demand planning tool. It is not really comparable to TM1. Demantra would be better off being compared to JDA Arthur Enterprise Planning.
Of course with out of the box products there is oftern considerable effort to link the solution to source systems and configure or customize. OOTB solutions can also sometimes be too rigid to adapt to an organization's business processes. TM1 can (and often does) do the same job as out of the box solutions but it has to be built from scratch. That being said oftern when comparing the cost and effort of configuration and customization of an OOTB planning product, TM1 often comes out ahead in terms of total cost of ownership.

Re: TM1 vs. Demantra
Gotcha, makes sense. Other than that, does it still use OLAP?
