Hello,
I am user of TM1 Perspectives for MS excel in Exel Version -2003
I am getting an error while trying to save dimension once the Alias attribute is added. The message is
'Cannot define the new attribute Alias, error code 63'
Has anyone seen this ? Would appreciate feedback.
Thanks & Regards,

Re: Need help on error 63 while adding attribute in TM1
Some possibilities that occur to me are:
If this is the first attribute that you are creating on the dimension, then, is it possible that you already have a }ElementAttributes_<dimension>.dim or .cub file left in the cubes directory?
If you have any rules on the }ElementAttributes cube could these be generating a duplicate alias?
Are you entering a duplicate alias?
Regards

Re: Need help on error 63 while adding attribute in TM1
When you did that, what TM1 user did you use ?
Was your TM1 user a TM1 administrator, a member of the admin group ?
Or was your TM1 user a non-admin user, not being a member of the admin group ?
I assume your TM1 user was a non-admin user.

Re: Need help on error 63 while adding attribute in TM1
Thanks for your responses. I am new in this forum and definitely appreciate a space to discuss TM1 issues as it tends to baffle me at times.
@ Paul .. I am not sure if I addressing your response correctly, however it was the second attribute added. There is a default attribute of format when the cube was created.
@Moby ... I am an user with 'write' rights on the cube so I am able to make changes but looks like it is limited to an extent and I did approach user with admin rights and was able to create the attribute.
Thank you again for your feedback.

User Group must have 'admin' access at element level to perform this activity.
