Upgrade from TM1 v 9.1 to v 9.5.1.

Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade from TM1 v 9.1 to v 9.5.1.

After upgrading to V 9.5.1 from v9.1 can we open the TM1 Server which is now available in v 9.5.1 via v 9.1 perspectives.
We conveyed the customer that he can use TM1 V 9.5.1 Excel Perspectives to connect to the database (v 9.5.1), but he says that he want to open the TM1 database of V 9.5.1 via v 9.1 Excel Perspectives itself.

We haven’t yet upgraded to V 9.5.1 but the customer is interested to know the possibility of opening a TM1 database of V 9.5.1 via V 9.1 Excel Perspectives.

Request you all to guide me on this requirement.

Yes, we are currently running in this exact configuration. At least half of my users have not yet upgraded and are connecting 9.1.2.3 clients to 9.5.1 servers.

Hi Matt, Radhika,

Would be interested to know whether there were any issues on the clients using 9.1 to access the 9.5 servers.

We may be in a situation where our servers and 95% of clients will be upgraded to 9.5.1 in a single instance, but the remaining 5% of clients will need to be upgraded on an ad-hoc basis.

from the (admitadly really damn hard to find documentation on 9.5.1) IBM website;

Incompatible versions
Using a newer TM1® client with an older TM1 Admin Server and/or TM1 server is not a supported TM1 environment.

There is no mention of the other way around but personally i would never mix versions over the "unicode barrier". So i'd only use a client/server mix of 9.4 up or 9.1 down.
