Spreading Issue in Prod environment.

Post by deepu_sree »

Hi All,
We're facing a strange issue in the Prod environment.

We'd moved all the cubes and the pdata files from the UAT environment to the Production environment last week.

So now we have both - UAT & Prod - the environments up and running .

I'm not able to spread data (Relative proportional/Equal Spread etc.) on a few cubes on the Prod environment - it is giving me this error - "TM1 + Spreading operation has failed because the contents of the cell cannot be modified".

But I'm able to execute the same spreading in the UAT environment.

Please help.

Regards,
Deepu.

Usually spreading would only fail because you have a rule affecting the area of the cube you are trying to spread on.

This would indicate that your UAT and Prod environments are *NOT* actually the same.

Thanks for your reply Lotsaram...But the environments are indeed the same at least in terms of the rules and the cube properties.

Also I deleted all the rules from the cube, saved the rules (after blanking out), and then recalculated the cube. Then i tried the same spread but I'm getting hte same error message. :(

You are getting this error "TM1 + Spreading operation has failed because the contents of the cell cannot be modified" probably becuase of the security rights given to those elements in the Production server. Check the security rights are set to write for all elements.
