Very Bizarre Excel Issue

Post by dubs »

Hi All,

Using Perspectives 9.5.1 through Excel 2003 I am getting a few strange issues.

Firstly when I try and select a single column it selects five columns, two on either side of the one I want, it won't let me highlight a single column. This issue persists until I disable the perspectives add-in.

Secondly I cannot paste a copied value more than once, I'll copy a cell, paste it once and then try and paste again and the clipboard cache is empty. This is intermittent.

I've tried disabling auto calculation as that can cause problems but no joy- also this happens whether I'm connected to TM1 or not.

Any Ideas?

Many Thanks

We are on 9.1.3 and we have had some bizzare macro issues. If memory serves me right (which it normally doesn't) There are quite a few issues with TM1 and excel 2003. Have you tried either re-installing TM1 or Excel?

The issue with multiple column selection does sound very unusual, I haven't ever seen or heard of this before.

The issue you are having with single cell copy/paste emptying the clipboard is (however unwanted) normal behaviour when using TM1 perspectives. This is to do with the single value send rather than paste when "pasting" over a DBRW. The simple workaround is to get into the habit of copying more than a single cell if you want the copied range to remain in the clipboard.

I can live with the pasting issue, even though I wasn't logged into a server or using DBRW's on my sheet it's not too much of an issue as it hasn't happened since, the column selection is a real pain. Excel got installed after perspectives but that is the only difference between this a previous set up that worked absolutely fine.

anyone else?
