Finding Zeros?

Post by jshurak »

I'm trying to create a report that finds exeptions...where a specific element may have a value in one cube and no value in a different cube. An example would be a gross sales exception, where we may have a sales cube and a price cube. One specific product has sales figures but no price. Is there a way to find zero values in an active report?

If I were you I would complete an exception cube (or add this to current cube) that uses simple rules to check whether certain condtions are met. If you make it a string based cube you could set it to bring back a certain message when the conditions aren't met.

This is only one solution mind and it might not be the best for you. You could also do something through TI. If you currently use it to load your data you could add a last process to your schedule that extracts a file with a list of exceptions.

I hope that helps?

Jim.
