When I try to update an existing rule in TM1 I get a message. I am attaching the screenshots.

It looks like a .NET related issue. Try switching to the Standard Rules Editor.
You can do this by changing thein the TM1P.INI file
If that works then you might have to look at the .NET Framework you have got.

If the Standart Rules Editor works fine and you have just Troubles with the Advanced Version be sure that you have .NET Version 3.5 installed which you need for using Edvanced Editor
