hi,
i am new to TM1 ,can anyone respond how to test data ,if data source is text files? can anyone mention what are the types of testing we need to o in TM1 before going to deploying from development to production?

You need to make sure that the numbers are correct. First look at the summary level numbers and then also compare a few lowest level number with the data source.

Usually, you will want to open the text file in Excel, and create pivot tables to test the results in TM1.
Also, you can slice a cube view to Excel or DBRW functions to reconcile the data in the Excel file (easier than checking manually).
If you have data coming from different source files, it's interesting idea to add an additional dimension (while testing your process, delete it afterwards). Using that dimension, you can store the data by "data source". It can help to find differences easier.
