I remember this too. The implementation of multithreaded loading in 8.4.5 was far superior to that in 9.1+ . We had some clients who stuck with that version because of it. I think, though, that for stable systems without a lot of conditional feeders needing to be switched _off_, the PersistentFeeders option in 9.5.1 is even better.
