Aliases in TI

Post by jim wood »

Guys,

I have done a search on this and the old forum without success.....

I have expereinced this before and I have worked around it but I was wondering if anybody else had seen this one......

Each time we complete a budget load some data from an external source. Their weeks are in the format 10/11 FW14. The format in TM1 is CYWK10_2011. Basically we work in Calendar time and the budget comes across in financial time. This has never been a problem as I added a simple alias mapping one to the other. This has worked for around 2 years. Today I ran the same process and no data has been loaded. I checked the log files and they are full with the likes of "10/11 FW14 is an invlaid key". I have checked the alias and it is still in place and works whne reporting the numbers (or lack of) in the cube.

Very strange and a bit of pain. I know what to do to get around the problem. I just wanted to find out if it is a known issue,

Jim.

... yes, we experience this too with 9.1.3. After a while Aliases cease to function on the server. The only solution is to restart the service or recompile the dimension (eg: by making a "comment" change and saving). Supposed to be fixed from 9.1.4 onward.
