Noticeable lag in selecting cells : Excel 2007/9.4.1 FP3

Post by swain69 »

Hi All,

Has anybody experienced a noticeable lag in selecting cells in Excel 2007? When I disable the ribbon, the lag goes away.
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

No need to disable the ribbon bar, just select any ribbon other than TM1.

Hi swain69,

We experience exactly the same. As Andy said, selecting any other ribbon is a good workaround.

Nevertheless, I have maybe another solution. Which add-in do you use?
Here, we are using tm1p.xla. On my computer, I replaced tm1p.xla with tm1pRibbonX.xlam add-in. It seems to solve the problem.
I haven't implemented that solution in production yet.

This performance lag when the TM1 Ribbon is active should not happen period.

This seems to be a bug but it can be difficult to track down as it seems to depend not just on the Perspectives build but also on Windows version, Excel version and fix packs, other add-ins installed, etc. I have seen this a few times but typically on isolated users' PCs not across the board.

Has anyone ever tracked down the exact cause and solution?
