Hmmm where to start? Maybe English as a second language has a part to play here but you have me stumped, lost for words. In fact probably you even have Alan lost for words.

You are aware that a "slice" can be more than what results when you click the little green "Excel" button in the cube viewer? After slicing out a view you can reformat the cells, add additional rows and columns, add additional Excel formulae, add pictures and graphics, add references to other cubes ... In fact you can do whatever you like. You can also write your DBRW references from scratch to format your view/slice/report in Excel however you want.

If your question is "I have a slice and I have a report. How do I make the slice into the report?" Then here is an answer of sorts ...
1/ Analyse the report. What data does it need in order to be produced?
2/ Analyse your cube(s). Do the cubes contain the data that is needed to support the report?
If the answer to step 2 is yes then proceed to step 3.
3/ Build the report. Start from a slice that as closely approximates the report as you can manage or just write the formulas from scratch. Apply formatting as necessary. Once you get started you will find that it is not difficult!

hi,

let me put it another way. i exported a slice which is defined by "cost price of two sweets for the year 2010". Say its exported to sheet 1 of excel just like this

year:2010
costprice sellingprice
dairymilk 20 30
milkybar 10 20

Now i have an other Excel sheet which has columns names and row names given but not the data, this is a standard Excel in which i view the Report.the 2nd excel is well formatted and colored so that its well presented.it will look like this.

year:2009
costprice sellingprice
dairymilk XXXXX xXXXXXX
milkybar

i want to import the data of the 1st excel to the 2nd excel , to the coresponding 'xxxx' marks.
So my quetsion is how can i link data from sheet1 to sheet2 ??
hope u will understand.

thanks and regards
angel.

You don't have to start from a slice, all you need is a correctly referenced DBRW to pull back the TM1 Value.

YOu can use the formula wizard to help you develop the DBRW (TM1, Edit Formula)
