Rules Editor Weirdness

Post by George Regateiro »

I experienced something today that is confusing me. I had to ask one of my coworkers to review a rule I was having trouble with and much to my suprise he could not see the change. After debugging the issue I had him change his rules editor from standard to advanced and he could see my rules. He was seeing a file that was over a year old (about 5 changes have occured since). Toggle the ini file back to the standard rules file and he was back to the year old file. Any clues as to what was going on?

This server is restarted nightly (it is our dev server). Also I tried to reporduce this on my machine without success.

Hi George,

Could it be you have both a .rux and a .blb file for the cube? If so, could it be that these two ar not aligned? I think the old rules editor picks up the .blb file if available...
Solution would be to delete the .blb file.

After more testing it is occuring on the 64 bit boxes and not on the 32 bit machines

Also, make sure you do not have a 'conflicting' Rules Spreadsheet.
Cheers!

It was the blb files that were causing the issue. I have logged a ticket since my trials isolated it to the 64 bit boxes.

Thanks for the help.
