TM1 top

Hi,

I'm trying install only TM1 top in my 32-bit machine.

First I chose both TM1 Perspectives and TM1 Top during my installation and I was able to access TM1 Top without problems.

But when I chose just TM1 top from my 32-bit setup file, i got only the following three files in the bin directory:

tm1top.exe
tm1top.ini
ApInstUtils.dll

I got an error "could not find tm1api.dll" when I tried to invoke TM1 top from the exe.
I copied over all the DLL files (from my other installation) it said it could not find and finally I was able to launch TM1 Top. But when I try to monitor a server from TM1 Top, I get the error "Could not connect to TM1 Server 'aaa' in the admin host 'bbb'. Press R to retry........."

Could anyone help me with this? Thanks...

TM1Top needs an installation of TM1 to run. I think (I've not tried it myself) you can change where it looks for the said file. I know (As I have done this) that you can drop the 3 files that run Top in to any install (bin) directory and it will work. I'll have a look myself to see if it is possible to change where it looks for the TM1 install ini files,

only if it runs under 9.1+: did you copy also the ssl stuff to the other computer?

Yeah Martin, I did copy all SSL related stuff too.

As Jim pointed out, copying over the TM1 Top related files to an existing bin directory (containing any TM1 installation) solved the problem. So TM1 Top does not work on its own without a proper installation.
