Excel Worksheet not opening from TM1 Web

Post by Sandhya Kumar »

Hi,

We are using TM1 9.4 FP3.

When we try to open one particular .xls file from "Applications" in TM1 Web, we get the below error:

"Error occurred while converting the MS Excel workbook into XML format : Exception of type 'System.OutOfmemoryException' was thrown."

The size of the .xls file is 69 MB. This is the biggest file among the lot and we are able to open the second largest file which is around 35 MB.
Is this error because of the file size? If yes, what is the maximum file size officially supported in TM1 web? I tried to find an IBM document having this information but could not find any. :(
Please help!

Thanks,
Sandhya

What the blinkers are you trying to do converting a 69MB excel file to open in TM1 web!? :o Overall web performance and paging is vatsly improved in 9.5 vs prior versions but TM1 web is not Excel and will not perform like excel. Wherever possible websheet reports should be limited to single tabs and be as small as possible in order to optimise performance. You shoudl search this forum for many other previous postings on this topic ...

Please check that your files are not too big without a reason.

It could be that you seem to use many/all rows or columns in a sheet, where in fact the real last cell used is not far compared to cell A1.

Hit the Ctrl-End shortcut and see where you end up on the sheet.

Remove all rows and columns below the last cell in use, save the file and reopen it. Do this for each of the tabs.

Do you have hidden sheets?

What does the file contain to make it so large? My websheets were never larger than a few 100 KB, even my largest regular Excel file in use does not exceed about a few MB's.
