Maximum Number of Connections Exceeded on the Server

Post by charlotte »

We're supposed to have 10 user licenses for TM1, but have started getting "Maximum Number of Connections Exceeded on the Server" errors after 5 users have logged on simultaneously. Anyone know what could be causing this? I thought there was supposed to be a new "we trust you to only use the number of licenses you purchased so we won't limit you directly" type of licensing.

We're running version 9.4.10000.50077

The license file says:
MAX_USERS=99999
MAX_READONLY_USERS=99999

Check your }clientproperties cube to see if "MaximumPorts" is at least 3 per user, as this setting limits an user account to a certain number of simultaneous logins. Though if this was the problem I would expect the error to read "Maximum Number of Connections Exceeded for this User".

Also -This may be a bit farfetched - but some excel based TM1 "models" use MDX technology which opens a second connection to the TM1 server.
