9.5

Post by iliketm1 »

Hello All,
This is my first post on this forum and ironically my question is about 9.5 - so I am hoping I can get as much info from all you smart people than reading some PDF or listen to some Sales Rep!

So we are in the process of implementing TM1 9.5
We are brand new to TM1 and have been running Cognos BI, EP apps, along with Essbase and a few other for years now.
The idea is to switch from 8.4 to 9.5 and so the first question goes:

1> Is there any viewer in the TM1 family that can replace Report Studio?
2> We have multiple options and do not want to give out all these options to our users, such as Active Forms, In-Spreadsheet browser, TM1 web, EV - Can you tell us what tool you use and why?
3> Has anyone had issues with performance on 9.5 - I read compared to 9.4 performance has decreased when using Dynamic subsets..anything else?
4> What are data load times in TI? We are an Oracle shop
5> How many users are hitting your TM1 environment? Power users vs Read only?
6> What is the typical server topology for a TM1 environment?

I would appreciate any help from you as this is a major move for us. I'd love to have your opinion and compare notes from our Sales Reps before we jump into this world of TM1.

Thanks muchly :)

In TM1 you can use Executive Viewer, TM1Web for reporting and dashboard purpose.

Active Forms, In-Spreadsheet browser, TM1 web, EV etc are different components of TM1 suite. User use different tools for different scenarios. You have to find out which tool is more suitable for you. Also in TM1 you can place Dimension, Cube etc Securities.

In TM1 data load times are directly related to the amount of data you are playing with and your Hardware capacity.

TM1 is a Memory and Processor hungry application. The more you can put is better for TM1. You have to look at your Cube size in order to get the right hardware.
Cheers!
