Element Security Override

Guys,

I have element security set up for the department dimension. However, I do not want the element security to apply when the department dimension is used in some cubes. How do I go about setting this up?

Thanks in advance.

In my humble the easiest way of doing this is to use a clone of the dimension in the other cubes. There are processes in the Bedrock library which can handle the cloning (including attributes) and which can be scheduled as chores.

Another option is to create a CellSecurity cube for those cubes that use the department dimension differently and apply your security there.

What about Data Reservations? They seem simple enough to apply and manage, although I would only use them to temporarily apply security. In the OP's case, I'd go with separate dimensions or hierarchies (PA).

Just curious as to thoughts on Data Reservations.

Thanks guys. I settled with some rules in the element security control cube.
