Vale In Spreadsheet Browser (ISB). Maybe. Again.

Post by Alan Kirk »

No, really this time. Maybe.

The extinction of the ISB has been reported before, then it was given a reprieve, then it was rumoured to be killed off, then... well, who knows. However I noticed this little nugget in the 10.2.0 Fix Pack 2 Release Notes (if one can call them that):
Deprecation statement
Cognos TM1 10.2.0 will be the last version to support the In Spreadsheet Browser (ISB) feature.
I haven't installed 10.2.2 yet, so it'll be interesting to see whether the ISB is in fact in there. Or whether this is yet another false alarm in the never ending saga of "One day it will die, no, really, any minute now, just watch and see..."
"To them, equipment failure is terrifying. To me, it’s 'Tuesday.' "

What is really funny is that I recently passed the TM1 analyst certification (two months ago). And you have at least two or three questions referencing the ISB !!!
